April 26-28 2012 - Maaike Bleeker is in Santiago de Chile
Sponsored by Performance Studies international (PSi), in collaboration with Universidad de las Artes, Ciencia y Comunicacion (UNIACC) and Centro Gabriela Mistral (GAM) This event will establish a point of contact between artists and academics in Chile and performance studies practitioners worlwide. This event will help build a disciplinary field in Chile by congregating numerous practitioners and thinkers in the area of performance studies, digital performance studies, and related fields. Our focus will be on the work of local artists, scholars and practitioners devoted (in a broad spectrum) to the analysis and study of performance. The aim of this event is also to unfold a possible network/interaction with international scholars and practitioners in the field of performance and performance studies.
The themes of the conference will be technologies of communication and transportation, the performativity of encounter and contact, and the changing dynamics of touch and space-time in telecomunnicational exchange.
