Dramaturgy Database is a database on dramaturgy. It contains information on dramaturgy and the profession of the dramaturge, with special attention for contemporary Dutch and Flemish theatre, dance and performance. Along with annotated references to literature, the database holds online texts, including a series of interviews with dramaturges, and a series of dossiers in which information concerning theatre-making processes is assembled. These interviews and dossiers were (and are continually) developed for this database. Through this approach, the database not only collects information, but also actively encourages and produces reflection on dramaturgy.
It is a living archive, open to contributions from researchers and practitioners in the field of dramaturgy. This project is an initiative of Theatre and Performance Studies at Utrecht University.
