MA CTDS / Study Program
INTRODUCTION
The study program is comprised of two semesters, each divided into two blocks. During the first semester, you will complete four study courses addressing current developments in international contemporary theatre and dance, as well as theoretical models and concepts that can be used to study these developments. In some instances theatre and dance are addressed concurrently. For the remaining study courses, the student is free to select courses specifically geared towards either theatre or dance.
During the second semester, you are expected to complete a tailor-made plan, designed to enable you to further specialize in the area of your choice. The degree program offers various themes (for example: dramaturgy, dance, intermediality, and community arts, among others). You can also opt to design your own area of specialization.
The program draws on an extensive network of national and international contacts in the world of theatre and dance practice, education and scholarship. We collaborate with the Theatre faculty from the Utrecht School for the Arts. Dramaturges, theatre and dance makers, programmers and other professionals from the world of theatre and dance are regular guests in our teaching program and Why Theatre? lecture series.
