Konstantina Georgelou / Research
Konstantina started her PhD research in January 2008 at the University of Utrecht. Her project focuses on how the operation of the formless (Georges Bataille, Documents, 1929-30) can be made productive for the analysis and reading of contemporary dance and theatre performances, dealing specifically with artistic works that undermine and disturb patterns of perception and cognition of the audience (Socěetas Raffaello Sanzio, Jan Fabre, Meg Stuart, Ultima Vez, Vera Mantero et cetera). Using the operations of the formless to explore the notions of staged language, movement and time during specific scenes in performances, her project looks at the type of experiences evoked for the audience and investigates their socio-political implications.

PERFORMART PAGE
PerformART Page (www.hellastheatre.gr) is an e-zine about performing arts hosted by the Hellenic Centre of the International Theatre Institute (UNESCO). It creates a virtual space where academic texts, creative writing and various studies intersect. The texts are published in Greek and English, launching a productive theoretical and artistic dialogue which is generally missing from Greece. It invites theoreticians, students and artists internationally to make their proposals and send their texts by contacting us in: performartpage@gmail.com.
