Bart Dieho

Bart Dieho is a Lecturer in Theatre Studies, and teaches on theatre dramaturgy, the profession of the dramaturge (a publication on this topic is scheduled for 2009) and the analysis and description of creation processes in theatre, with a focus on the theatre maker's creativity development. With regard to these subjects, he initiated the Theaterdramaturgie.Bank, an online database on theatre dramaturgy and the profession of the dramaturge, with a focus on Dutch and Flemish theatre. He is also co-moderator of the Theaterdramaturgie-Podium, an email group focussing on dramaturgy. From 2004-2007 he was program coordinator of the MA Theaterdramaturgie of the Professional School of the Arts Utrecht.

Bart is coordinator of the PBT, the internal production office, and surveys the in-house theatre productions and workshops in the University's black box laboratory theatre Studio T. He is dramaturgical advisor of Warner & Consorten (“unexpected performances for unusual places”), Powerboat (interactive theatre) and Curtains Up (musical theatre). He is also a theatre practitioner. After a period engaged with physical theatre (inspired by Meyerhold, among others), he now writes and composes musical theatre.
